The Wine Rack a Community Built

“Build it and they will come”

Back in 2010 we posted an article, DIY Wine Rack  and a follow up on the Finished Wine Rack. What I didn’t realize was that the article was being referenced and reprinted in other websites.

On our site, DYI Wine Rack is the most viewed post. In 2010: 2 views, 2011: 88 views, 2012: 488 views, 2013: 1,171 views, 2014: 1,122 views and 2015: 1,012 views. That is 3,883 views to date on our site for the DIY Wine Rack post! It does not include the other sites where it appears!

I just wanted to show you where the wine rack went. Most have linked back to the Vine Dawgs site. Some folks sell the dimensions and plans (which I didn’t include in the article! 🙂 The following have used the images, story or both:

The Vine Dawgs are a great group of guys that love food, wine, dogs and conversation. We all come from different walks of life. We get help from our wives and try to get together as couples at least once a year. Thank you Rodney for putting the group together!

Piña Colada Rice Recipe

3 cups chicken stock
2 cups pineapple juice
1 cup coconut milk
1 stick butter
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
3 2/3 cups uncooked rice
1 or 2 cans finely diced water chestnuts, drained
1/2 slivered almonds
3-4 green onions, finely sliced
1/2 red bell pepper, finely diced
 

In large stockpot with a lid, bring first 5 ingredients to a boil on high, add rice, stir for one minute, cover and reduce heat to low. Let cook 20 minutes. Remove from heat, let stand 5 minutes, then “fluff” with fork. Rice will appear to be very sticky at first. Stir in remaining ingredients, mixing well. Rice will separate some and be less sticky as soon as it cools. Serve warm.
